Welcome to the Black Hole Group website. Our goal is to understand black holes–exotic structures of spacetime–and their impact on astrophysics. More specifically, we want to quantify how black holes interact with their surroundings, accelerating particles, releasing radiation and producing relativistic outflows capable of affecting the fate of their host galaxies.

To achieve these goals, our group works at the intersection of observations, theory and high-performance computing. We are using state-of-the-art numerical simulations of black hole accretion and a wide-range of multiwavelength observations of active galactic nuclei.
